Mina Kimes sees Raheem Morris unlocking the 49ers' young defense

The 49ers have LOTS of young talent on defense
Renardo Green's interceptions and Keion White's pressure on quarterbacks give Mina Kimes plenty to work with. Her fast-starting Short, "The 49ers have LOTS of young talent on defense", makes the case that San Francisco's younger defenders deserve attention across the lineup, not just at one standout position.
The clip reached about 27,000 views in ten hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short. Its central argument is about coaching as much as personnel: Kimes credits defensive coordinator Raheem Morris with turning that young talent into production.
"He is getting more out of these young players than we have seen in San Francisco in a minute," she says.
Kimes points to Green's coverage results before highlighting White's pass-rush numbers, using Next Gen Stats. Her fellow analyst emphasizes the secondary's speed, positioning and improved depth, arguing that Morris's management helps defenders get to the ball quickly. Veteran contributions remain part of the picture, but the younger players drive this discussion.
The comments extend that roster review. Viewers single out Green's play at cornerback, name additional young contributors and discuss how much credit belongs to Morris. Some also argue that the secondary's ability was already there, with a lack of pass rush previously making it harder to see.

Morris deserves the credit he’s getting but these guys were really good last year. It was just hidden by the lack of pass rush. It’s a good secondary.
