Top 10 Talent revisits Chris Daughtry's American Idol exit
A rock-heavy retrospective sits alongside AIRFOOTWORKS' acrobatics as the clips channel adds about 100,000 subscribers in a day.
Why this story? The channel is adding 100,042 subscribers a day, 20 times a normal day (4,970).
Bon Jovi, Fuel, Seether and Creed: Chris Daughtry's American Idol songbook makes a rock-heavy addition to Top 10 Talent's latest uploads. The clips channel has added about 100,000 subscribers in a day, far above its usual few thousand.
Its Daughtry compilation returns to his 2006 run, moving from performances of "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" through to the results announcement that ended his time on the show. Along the way are detours into Johnny Cash, Keith Urban and Queen, a reminder of how many different musical assignments an Idol contestant could face before reaching the finale.
But that retrospective isn't the channel's most-watched recent upload. An AIRFOOTWORKS clip from America's Got Talent in 2024, titled "this looked physically IMPOSSIBLE! 🤯", has drawn nearly a million views. These are archive performances getting another outing, not new auditions.
The subscriber jump also comes while the channel's daily views are below their usual level, so it isn't a simple story of everything rising together. Elsewhere in the latest selection, French vocal performer MB14's Britain's Got Talent appearance offers a different kind of spectacle: a performance built from his own voice.
