The Comeback Kids make room for WoW beyond the raid

Sky's packed week covers dungeon rewards, class changes and the possibilities of horizontal progression.

Dungeon runs don't have to be the fastest route to leveling for viewers to want another go. Beneath The Comeback Kids' most watched new upload, commenters describe returning for gear, helping friends and enjoying the journey, with one practical condition: slower progress shouldn't feel punitive.

"Blizzard Is Changing WoW Forever… Dungeons & Classes Are Just the Start" has reached about 169,000 views. Sky's discussion moves from dungeon experience changes to classes, cross-faction questions around Dalaran, armor and transmog. The comments turn those systems into a more personal question: what makes time spent in a game worthwhile, even when it isn't optimal?

The channel posted thirteen uploads, and its newer discussions are now carrying the most momentum. "Blizzard Made It Clear Forever's Future Goes Beyond Just Raids" draws on interviews with Clay Stone and Holly Longdale, covering progression, Shaman tanking and PvP gear colors. Its description also promises examples of horizontal progression, the idea of broadening players' options rather than simply sending them toward ever-stronger equipment. The gearing-and-progression episode is another active draw, while a live session brings the conversation back to choosing a main character.

The audience grew by roughly 3,000 subscribers over the week, while daily views sit a little above their usual level. Among nearby strategy and role-playing channels, WTiiWarcraft is also having a busier-than-usual day and UrbanLoon is close to its customary pace. The Comeback Kids recorded the largest weekly views gain in that selection, with its coffee-and-conversation format devoted to the details of what players might do between raids.

  • I will play dungeons multiple times for the love of the game. It doesn't have to be optimal, it just has to not be punitive.

  • I would go back for items and to help friends, xp doesn't really matter to me, I just want to enjoy the game.

  • Love the idea of dungeon quest chains, like how the onyxia attunement quest has you visit BRD like 4 times

  • Honestly, I think dungeons should be designed for obtaining items, not experience. That way, we would run dungeons to get gear, while gaining experience in the open world and through PvP.

  • haven’t been to this channel in over a year but when I found it, you guys had like 10,000 subscribers pretty crazy to see where you’re at now

  • Given that good dungeon blues can last for 10-15 levels beyond when they get them. I think repeating dungeons is good time spent.
