Switch and Click takes control of the router
OpenWrt brings network-wide ad blocking and smart TV tracker controls into a five-upload week.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
What If Your Router Could Run Linux?
"At the end of the day, it's a router. It does router things." Switch and Click's presenter gives the OpenWrt One a deliberately ordinary introduction before showing what she has changed: ad blocking across the network, VPN integration and blocks on smart TV tracking domains.
"What If Your Router Could Run Linux?" is the week's most-watched new upload, with roughly 104,000 views. The interesting distinction isn't simply Linux inside a router, as several viewers point out that many routers already use it. It's having access to settings and software that let the owner do more. Other comments turn toward OpenWrt customization and requests for a fuller setup guide.
That interest in taking control carries into "Why You Get So Much Spam (And How to Stop It).", about opting out and clearing old subscriptions. It's currently the channel's fastest-gathering upload. Just outside the week's releases, "Gaming Doesn't Have To Be Expensive." also remains active, comparing a used Switch with a secondhand Steam Deck after weeks of play.
The rest of the new lineup gets pleasingly practical: more comfortable Switch controllers in "The Problem With Small Hands.", the origins of PLA printing filament, and a return to the Nvidia Shield after a price increase complicates the earlier recommendation.
Switch and Click added about 2.9 million views and gained subscribers over the week, though its current daily viewing pace is well below usual. That weekly audience is close to ETA PRIME's among similarly sized gadget channels; Insert Richie had a substantially busier week. For Switch and Click, keyboards may have supplied the foundation, but this week's rabbit holes run all the way to the network connecting the gadgets.

I love your channel, I came here a few months ago, now I have a multi node proxmox cluster with added Oracle cloud servers and soon will be getting a major upgrade in my (network)hardware 😂
@VisionNL020See it on YouTubeTheoretically, you could run a Terraria or Minecraft server on that router if it meets the system requirements
That would be sick@cobaltretrotechSee it on YouTube
