A Steam Machine, a Bambu breakup and the Shield past a million for Switch and Click

Ten uploads went up in seven days, including a 3D printer switch to Elegoo's Centauri Carbon 2 after Bambu Lab's cease and desist to an open-source developer.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Thirteen hours after it went up, "I Unlocked the Steam Machine's Full Potential" was already gathering views as fast as anything on the channel. The video gets past what the description calls initial sticker shock and then goes deep on customizing Valve's box: Decky plugins, KDE Connect, nested desktops and a 3D printed controller holder.

That printer detail fits the week. Two days earlier came "Bambu Got Greedy, So I Tried Elegoo Instead," written by Abi. The description lays out the reason: Bambu Lab sent a cease and desist to an open-source developer, so the channel put Elegoo's Centauri Carbon 2 against Bambu's P2S. The verdict it gives is similar print quality at a lower price, with trade-offs of its own.

The Nvidia Shield video, as we reported here, had a big first day. It has kept going and passed a million views. Its comment section reads like a support group for long-time owners. Many say their Shield has run in the living room for most of a decade. Others add Plex server tips, Dolby Vision profiles, or the gaming side they feel the video skipped. One viewer stopped to praise Scavenger's Reign, which shows up on screen.

The shorts were smaller: a $65 AULA F75 keyboard, a flat 49-inch monitor and an app called Zuck Off that warns you about nearby smart glasses.

All of it nearly doubled the channel's usual daily views, and it added about 10,000 subscribers. Among tech channels of similar size, only Parker Burton and Insert Richie gained more views over the week. Not bad for a channel whose about text admits that keyboards are how it all started.
