Tiger attack: 'There's pretty much less than 1% chance of a survival'
Animal keeper Reece Oliver told Sky News that the man who entered a tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park "stood no chance" of survival. His interview adds a keeper's assessment to the fatal incident we reported here.
Emergency services were called to the park on Saturday afternoon. South Yorkshire Police said the man was pronounced dead at the scene and that his family had been informed.
The interview drew around 330,000 views in its first ten hours, already many times the audience a regular Sky News upload usually attracts over a full first day. The survival assessment is Oliver's, rather than a statistical finding established in the report.
A separate Sky News update addresses what will happen to the animal. It reports that Altai, an Amur tiger, will not be euthanized following the man's death. That short report also drew an unusually large early audience.
