Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Bethany Joy Lenz on THE BETRAYAL OF CORA WEXFORD

Bethany Joy Lenz takes readers to Victorian London in Simon & Schuster Books' most watched new upload of the week. "Bethany Joy Lenz on THE BETRAYAL OF CORA WEXFORD" introduces a romantic psychological suspense novel set against the Jack the Ripper murders, a change of territory for readers who know her memoir Dinner for Vampires. Television viewers may know her best as Haley James Scott on One Tree Hill.

The publisher posted four videos, with Lenz's introduction drawing a modest audience of roughly 660 views. Another author introduction, "Meet Toren and Lily," gives Peyton Corinne space to sketch the relationship at the center of UNDONE. Alongside those fictional worlds, two uploads make the publisher's case against censorship, including a short connecting independent bookstores with access to challenged books and authors.

The busiest conversation on the channel, though, arrived just before this week's uploads. "Stephen King & Patton Oswalt In Conversation: OTHER WORLDS THAN THESE" pairs the author with the actor and audiobook narrator to discuss the Talisman trilogy's conclusion and Oswalt's work bringing it to audio. It has reached about 25,000 views and is drawing far more daily viewing than the newer introductions.

Across the channel, subscribers were unchanged over the week, while today's viewing pace is about a quarter of its usual level. The surrounding books-and-reading channels have had varied fortunes: Audible's daily viewing is more than double its usual pace, while Tolkien Untangled is quieter. For Simon & Schuster, the King-Oswalt exchange remains the substantial listening stop amid a week of brief book introductions and advocacy.
