'Supreme,' a year and a half on, keeps SHUBH's week moving

With no new uploads, the Kronic-produced track has passed 228 million views, and two other videos from the Punjabi-Canadian artist are close behind in daily pace.

What does SHUBH sound like on a week with nothing new? Mostly like "Supreme." The official video went up about a year and a half ago, and it is still the busiest thing on the channel, drawing roughly 280,000 views a day on its way past 228 million.

The credits read like a small studio roll call. SHUBH wrote, composed and sang it, Kronic produced it with extra production from Sickboi, and TrustDonny directed the video. The tags quote a line about youth at its peak, which fits a song built on swagger.

Two more videos keep it company. "Balenci," a little over a year old and produced by Offsneak, draws about half of the daily views "Supreme" does. The tags pitch it for gyms, late-night drives and car stereos. "Moves," posted in spring as a 360° music video, is the youngest of the three. It is already past 38 million and running almost level with "Balenci." Its tags call it a motivational song and tie it to a phrase about going from the bus to a Rolls-Royce, the kind of rise story the Toronto-based artist keeps coming back to.

Among the hip hop and rap artists nearest him in size, SHUBH sits third by subscribers, behind Drake and Lil Wayne, with more than seven and a half million. Nearby, T-Pain is right at his usual pace, and BigXthaPlug is a little quieter than his normal level, though still drawing well over a million views a day.

The channel has nearly five billion views in total, and on a week without an upload, three songs from three different producers are doing the work.
