A latte routine near nine million views keeps Ryantagcoffee's cups full
The coffee channel's only new upload this week was a short lesson on dialing in espresso with three test shots.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
My routine for the perfect latte
"My routine for the perfect latte" is closing in on nine million views, two months after it went up, and it remains the video most people find when they find Ryantagcoffee. A channel whose about line promises to teach something about coffee every day has, in a sense, one lesson that keeps getting taught.
The new lesson arrived on October 5: "The 3-shot method for perfect espresso." It was the only upload of the week. The description sets it on the Breville Barista Express, the grinder-equipped machine it calls the one more people learn espresso on than any other, and the title's promise is a method for dialing in by pulling three shots. It is a modest starter so far. Its comment section has turned into a request line: a cafe breve, a cappuccino, an egg yolk coffee, and a whole video on pressurized double-walled baskets, which one viewer says would help a lot of people. Another asks why some Breville machines sputter mid-extraction.
The channel as a whole is moving at about half its usual daily pace, though it still added around 5,000 subscribers over the week. Among the food channels close to it in size, none gathered more views than Ryantagcoffee, with Alpine Butcher the nearest, while Peebs and Feelin' Fab With Kayla had quieter stretches.
A three-week-old tip, "This can make your espresso better," sits between the old latte and the new espresso, past 100,000 views.

Why do Sage and Breville machines sometimes produce a sputtering or uneven flow during extraction instead of a slow, smooth, thread-like stream? Have you noticed this happening with your machine?
Based on my research, I don't see this behavior in De'Longhi machines.@tomhanks853See it on YouTubeMake Cappuccino

A cafe breve, one of the drinks viewers request, swaps steamed milk for what?
A breve is an espresso drink made with steamed half-and-half instead of milk, which makes it richer.
