Washing up with the Princess: West Sussex Minibus fills the Royal Family Channel

Catherine's volunteer day arrived in three separate clips, while David Beckham's reunion with Prince William at the Royal Film Performance passed 200,000 views.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Princess Catherine spent a day with the West Sussex Minibus, a volunteer-run transport service that keeps isolated people in the county connected, and the channel cut it three ways. The busiest of the three, "I'll Be Having A Word With You," had more than 46,000 views within ten hours. A second clip shows the weekly lunch, where one resident handed the Princess a new job: the washing up. The description says she took it well and even let slip a little about the chore rota at home.

Those three clips are now the fastest-moving videos on the channel, but the week's biggest total belongs to an evening in Leicester Square. At the 73rd Royal Film Performance, the world premiere of Tom Cruise's Digger, David Beckham greeted Prince William warmly, with his sons Romeo and Cruz beside him. That clip passed 200,000 views.

Cruise turns up twice, in fact. A throwback called "The First Royal Cruise" goes back to the couple's first meeting with him at the Top Gun: Maverick premiere. Among the other fifteen uploads were a live visit to the Leeds Rhinos, where the late Rob Burrow's legacy was part of the day, and an archive piece asking who dances best in the House of Windsor. It runs from Queen Elizabeth II in Ghana to Diana and John Travolta at the White House in 1985.

The channel, produced by ITN rather than the Palace, is the biggest in its group by subscribers. Its peers were mostly busy, with Rep. Joe Neguse and The Democrats well above their usual pace.
