Rako reaches the million-subscriber goal still sitting in its bio

The animated-story channel added roughly 190,000 subscribers in a week, with a washing machine joining its cast of unlikely rescuers.

Why this story? The channel went from 823,000 to 1,010,000 subscribers this week.

Rako's channel description still lists reaching a million subscribers as the goal. That line now describes an achievement rather than an ambition, after a week of sharp subscriber growth took the animated-story channel past the mark.

As we reported here, Rako was approaching that milestone with an old lawnmower getting hero billing. Its newer uploads extend the unlikely-rescuer theme to an old washing machine, while another story introduces someone who cannot float. A supposedly useless superpower also gets its turn, shifting the emphasis from overlooked objects to underestimated abilities.

These are dramatized animated stories, not documentary accounts. Rako says some draw inspiration from real events and others are invented, with scripts, animation, voiceovers, editing and sound built for the channel.

The rusty rooster has had a milestone day too, passing a million views. On Rako, even the supporting cast gets an achievement to celebrate.
