Rako imagines a grandmother selling her memories
The animated channel added more than a quarter-million subscribers in a week, as its latest titles mix emotional bargains with supernatural scares.
Why this story? The channel went from 537,000 to 804,000 subscribers this week.
What could a grandmother give up for someone she loves? Rako's latest answer is her memories, a premise that puts an emotional bargain alongside the channel's monsters and last-second rescues.
That expanding collection of animated stories has accompanied a substantial jump: Rako added about 267,000 subscribers over seven days, increasing its subscriber count by nearly half to more than 800,000.
The grandmother story isn't the only new departure from physical danger. Another recent upload imagines someone becoming invisible because nobody loves him. Both titles turn feelings into impossible events, rather than putting another monster in someone's path.
These are dramatized entertainment, not accounts presented as news. Rako says some stories draw inspiration from real events while others are invented, with scripts, animation, voiceovers, editing and sound created by its team.
The scares still have a prominent place. The mannequin story we covered earlier has passed ten million views, while a monster following someone home has crossed a million. Rako's growing storybook has room for both a nighttime threat and a grandmother's sacrifice.
