Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

I Tried to Film a Video. I Still Haven't Recovered.

The filming had to stop. Dianna Cowern and her team got halfway through a longer health update before her energy dipped. A crash followed, and nearly a month later she had not recovered enough to finish it, editor Levi Butner explains in the description.

That unfinished attempt is part of Physics Girl's October 27 upload, "I Tried to Film a Video. I Still Haven't Recovered." Speaking from bed, Dianna describes living with Long COVID and ME/CFS, renewed weeks of being bed-bound, and periods when she could not talk. Simple embroidery and audiobooks have offered things she can manage.

Her wish at the opening is direct: "I want to talk to you about science and the universe." Later, she describes feeling calmer and finding a measure of acceptance in life with chronic illness. The video leaves room for both feelings, without turning acceptance into a recovery announcement.

The update has reached roughly 936,000 views and is the channel's most watched new upload and its most active video right now. Viewers are discussing whether documenting illness is itself a form of science communication, and the disconnect between wanting to learn or create and having the energy to do it.

Physics Girl's other upload, "My easiest trick to TRY AT HOME!", draws on an earlier candle demonstration. Across the channel, daily viewing is close to its usual level, while subscribers were unchanged over the week. The earlier office retrospective also continues drawing views, preserving a glimpse of the science conversations Dianna says she wants to return to.
