For years, many of Philip DeFranco's viewers recall, Ethan Klein wanted the news host to cover him. Under "H3 Ethan Klein Cheating Scandal Broke The Internet," the comment section keeps returning to that history. The pinned comment calls the episode a quick bonus Friday show, and it drew about 794,000 views since yesterday.
The H3 segment is a reading of public statements. DeFranco starts with Hila Klein's account that Ethan has been having an affair for more than six months. He follows it with the H3 crew's notice that the podcast is on indefinite hiatus and a separate statement from crew member AB. Then comes the clip that many people online had already found: Ethan, on an earlier episode, saying, "I just hate men who have kids, they deliver you two beautiful children, and then you go and cheat on them, bro."
Ethan's own words close the section. DeFranco shares Ethan's request for privacy for his family and his later update that he is divesting from the businesses he shares with Hila.
After a sponsored sneaker segment, the show turns to business. Tesla and SpaceX are exploring a merger, and DeFranco uses an interview clip in which Elon Musk explains why he cannot take part in the talks. "Because I'm a conflicted party, I can't actually be in the discussions of the special committees," Musk says, calling the process "an odd kabuki dance." He also leaves no doubt about where he stands: "Do I think it would be a good idea? Yes."
DeFranco then explains the valuations, the shareholder votes and the antitrust and international questions any deal would face. The episode presents it as an explored combination, not an agreed one.
It is a change of subject for a channel whose week had been dominated by midterm politics, from the Amy Acton ad to the Abdul El-Sayed town hall.
