Parrot's End prison passes five million views

The staged Minecraft adventure arrives as daily viewing across Parrot's channel climbs to more than nine times its usual pace.

Why this story? The whole channel is running at 4,692,746 views a day, 9.4 times a normal day (501,763).

Parrot's channel is drawing roughly 4.7 million views a day, a sharp change of pace as his latest mass-player prison story clears five million views.

"1000 Players Simulate End Prison in Minecraft," posted on October 15, places him in captivity with a particularly inconvenient gap in his knowledge: he doesn't know who built the prison, or why it exists. MinuteTech and Spoke are named among the participants. This is part of the Unstable Universe, a staged Minecraft server where the creators tell fictional stories, rather than an unscripted survival contest.

The setting changes, but captivity has become a substantial part of Parrot's catalog. September's "1000 Players Simulate Mining Prison in Minecraft" put him to work mining for survival after capture by ClownPierce. "Escaping the Minecraft Underworld" followed, exploring a place beneath the Nether.

There is an older foundation for these elaborate lockups, too. "Escaping Proton: Minecraft's Most Secure Prison" and "Escaping Paragon: The Perfect Minecraft Prison" both sit among Parrot's most-watched uploads. For this creator, designing a place nobody should be able to leave is practically a storytelling specialty.
