Anniversary Party with Peanut Butter Wolf, N8NOFACE, Kyle Mooney (Ep 405)
Tim Heidecker, DJ Douggpound and Vic Berger made room for a record-label birthday among their four new uploads. "Anniversary Party with Peanut Butter Wolf, N8NOFACE, Kyle Mooney (Ep 405)" celebrates Stones Throw Records turning thirty, with its founder joining the show and N8NOFACE supplying a live performance of "Paranoid."
Stones Throw has long made space for distinctive musical personalities, including Madlib and the late J Dilla. That makes it a fitting subject for a call-in show whose ingredients include music, audio drops and whatever tangent comes next. Kyle Mooney's contribution is a Zoom call the description bills as deliberately misleading. The comic interruption gets its own edited upload, "Kyle Mooney CRASHED Our Show," while the N8NOFACE performance is available separately for anyone arriving chiefly for the music.
The biggest new audience, though, belongs to "Get to know Emma Vigeland!" The Majority Report co-host's interview has reached about 238,000 views and is drawing the most daily views among the channel's active videos. Viewers discuss discovering unfamiliar parts of her background and her habit of slipping one-liners into conversations with Sam Seder. An earlier Vigeland upload is also drawing substantial attention, giving her appearances a prominent place in the channel's current activity.
Office Hours added about 2,000 subscribers across the week, and its latest daily views are more than three times their usual level. Nearby in subscriber size, Mark Bouris is also having a much busier-than-usual day, while Triforce! is close to its customary pace. For Office Hours viewers, the anniversary episode offers a different route into the week: a label founder, synth punk and an awkward comedy call, all sharing the same show.
