The Fantastic Four's baseball outing contains a clue bigger than anything happening on the diamond: Brooklyn still has its Dodgers. Erik Voss makes that alternate history a starting point for New Rockstars' breakdown of the Avengers: Doomsday World Series special look.
Voss distinguishes the MLB players' promotional dugout reactions from the movie footage, which he places on Earth-828 in 1970. In our world, the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles in 1958. Here, Ebbets Field remains part of Brooklyn's landscape. Even the stadium advertising gets an explanation: the real Abe Stark sign famously offered a suit to a batter who hit it.
Then the scrutiny shifts from the ballpark to Chris Evans' face. Voss examines the visual effects around Steve Rogers and his exchange with Thor, considering whether the character could actually be a disguised Loki. It's a theory, not a reveal, but it gives the apparent reunion a different possible meaning. Several viewers pursue that possibility in the comments; another points out the difficulty of declaring Sue Storm absent when invisibility is her specialty.
The breakdown has drawn about 1.2 million views in four days. Its appeal is the familiar New Rockstars exercise of treating small details as questions worth pursuing, from a stadium sign to Scott Lang calling both Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers "Cap." The video includes a sponsored candy segment.
Voss also examines battle footage involving Gambit, Shang-Chi, Doctor Doom and Sentinels. New Rockstars has since continued the Steve question in a separate trailer breakdown with "Fake Steve" in its title.

I probably learned more about Major League Baseball than I did about Avengers:Doomsday by watching this, but I guess I expected a little too much.
