- 7:08He questions what the closure means for future Mass Effect games and the Amazon television adaptation.

- 16:12He thanks BioWare's staff across its history for their influence on his life and narrative gaming.
The game cases come out early. Reflecting on news of BioWare's closure, MrMattyPlays reaches for the physical reminders of what the studio meant to him: adventures that shaped his youth and even his motivation at school.
"This is the most heartbroken I've been about a gaming news story, possibly ever," he says in "BioWare Is *Officially* Dead." The video opens with Liara and Shepard saying farewell in Mass Effect before turning to his own difficulty letting go.
Its views were ordinary for the channel. The conversation underneath was not: roughly 2,400 comments arrived in the first day, nearly six times the usual volume.
Viewers bring specific memories rather than just a list of favorite titles. One recalls midnight GameStop openings for Mass Effect's sequels. Others describe Dragon Age: Origins as their introduction to role-playing games, including a viewer who remembers learning English by repeating its characters' lines. Several distinguish the BioWare whose games they still replay from the studio's later work.
MrMattyPlays makes that distinction himself. In the description, he says he hasn't loved a BioWare game in the same way for more than a decade. That distance hasn't erased the attachment.
He also looks beyond the farewell: he argues that Dragon Age needs a reboot rather than remasters, and worries about Mass Effect becoming little more than crossover material. "I don't want Mass Effect being left in the vault of EA," he says. He closes by thanking the people who made the games.

Dragon age origins was my favorite game from BioWare. I was 14 when it came out in 2009. This is sad news indeed

The numbers
The unusual response was in the comments, not the views. The first-day discussion was nearly six times as busy as a typical MrMattyPlays upload.
