MrBallen brings back five fan-favorite stories for a Halloween compilation, including a bridge patrol that becomes much harder for a skeptical police officer to dismiss.
At the unfinished Stocksbridge bypass in South Yorkshire, two security guards report seeing a cloaked figure that a flashlight beam appears to pass through. In MrBallen's telling, Police Constable Dick Ellis initially rejects their account. Later, investigating from his patrol car, he feels a rush of icy air and sees someone in an old-fashioned coat outside the window. The story moves from the guards seeking help to the officer encountering something he cannot explain.
That is one chapter in a 55-minute countdown whose settings keep changing. An abandoned Ontario house contains a dining set and a fur coat; taking the coat precedes a frightening encounter at the windows. In Brazil, a father's disappearance follows a reported cloud of yellow smoke. The final account begins with a motorcycle rider struck by lightning, then brings a stalled ambulance and an unidentified woman carrying a Bible into the emergency.
The compilation also includes the killing of Japanese college student Miyako Hiraoka. MrBallen follows her disappearance after work, the subsequent investigation and an unusual sound heard during a television news report.
These are narrated accounts, with the description explicitly noting that some details are fictionalized for dramatic purposes and some names changed. The visuals make a separate distinction: captions identify actual photographs and images that are not real photographs of the people or places depicted.
