Mentour Now! passes a million daily views amid FlyDubai coverage
The channel's reported cockpit-attack update has reached about 1.6 million views, while daily viewing across its uploads climbs sharply.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 1,133,686 views a day, 11 times a normal day (99,861).
Mentour Now!'s FlyDubai update is no longer just a fast-moving individual upload. The aviation channel has reached roughly 1.1 million views in a day across its videos, more than eleven times its usual daily pace.
Its October 12 episode, "The FlyDubai Story Just Got Even CRAZIER!", examines reports of a cockpit attack aboard a Dubai-Tel Aviv flight and a subsequent nosedive. As we reported here, the update centers on what is known about the incident. It has now reached about 1.6 million views.
That video is the most watched of the channel's recent uploads, ahead of its examinations of airport expansion, Northwest Airlines' history and aircraft safety technology. Its total views do not, however, establish how much of today's channel-wide increase it supplied.
Mentour Now! describes itself as Mentour Pilot's more relaxed sister channel, covering aviation industry questions and emerging technology alongside news. Here, a developing aviation story sits at the center of an unusually busy viewing day.
