MaxPreps' quarterback-pad experiment needs a helping hand

A sideline clip tops the week's uploads, alongside busy sports parents, volleyball frustrations and a drummer's showmanship.

I think the pads might be too small 😂😭 #shorts

Getting the shoulder pads on is the easy part. In MaxPreps' most-watched upload of the week, a football player tries on quarterback pads, adjusts them into place, then needs a coach and teammate to help pull them back off.

Shared with credit to hyrum.maiava on Instagram, the Short has reached roughly a quarter of a million views. The joke is in that abrupt cut from trying the equipment to trying to escape it, a practice-field detour from the touchdowns and tackles MaxPreps is known for.

The channel posted fifteen uploads across the week. Its recent selection stretches beyond football: soccer footwork, the frustrations of playing libero in volleyball, and a drummer whose stick work earns a hibachi-chef comparison in the title. "Athletes keep parents busy 😅 #shorts" is currently drawing views fastest, with the pads clip and drummer close behind.

Across the whole channel, the week brought about five million views, while subscribers stayed unchanged. Daily viewing is now roughly half again as high as usual, so the week ends with more activity than that steady subscriber count might suggest.

Among nearby sports-media channels, Bleacher Report and FOX Sports had much larger weeks for total viewing. MaxPreps' own busiest uploads, though, find their material around the edges of competition: the parents, the sideline and the equipment that needs a little assistance coming off.
