Mat Armstrong opens a wooden crate containing the glass his Bugatti rebuild has been waiting for. Having a replacement windshield made is one challenge. Getting that expensive, curved piece to sit properly in the car is another.
His only upload of the week, "BUGATTI REFUSED TO SELL US THE FINAL PART SO WE MADE IT", has passed ten million views. Armstrong says Bugatti would not supply the windshield for Alex's crashed Chiron Pur Sport, so the team commissioned a laminated replacement using a 3D scan. Roof glass arrives with it, bringing the order to roughly $40,000.
Before the glass goes in, there is plenty of less glamorous detective work. A cooling fan runs continuously at full power; Armstrong finds a short circuit in its signal wiring and sources a replacement listed for a Volkswagen. Silver vinyl replaces bronze dashboard accents, while exterior trim and the rear wing go back on. It is a particularly clear expression of his self-described approach: no professional training, just working things out as he goes.
The comments become an informal diagnostic session, with viewers suggesting compression tests, ignition checks and fuel-system possibilities for the car's further troubles. Others single out the windshield manufacturer or Alex's encouraging response when another problem appears.
The Bugatti upload now draws the most daily views on the channel, followed by the yacht purchase and specialist inspection. Those marine projects have not disappeared just because the garage doors are open again.
Subscribers grew over the week, although daily viewing is currently below Armstrong's usual pace. Among nearby motoring channels, carwow is having a particularly busy week; Armstrong also drew a substantial weekly audience, with more views than Top Gear or WhistlinDiesel. His biggest fresh draw, though, is a repair story in which custom hypercar glass and an ordinary parts listing belong in the same job.
