Haaland's double and Foden's return carry City past Ipswich
City's compact highlights draw an unusually fast audience as a late Ipswich penalty keeps the winning margin narrow.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,341,678 views a day, 31 times a normal first day on this channel (43,256).
HIGHLIGHTS | Man City 3-2 Ipswich | Haaland brace and Foden goal!
Jérémy Doku supplies the run and the pass across goal. Phil Foden supplies the side-foot finish, marking his return to Manchester City's lineup with the opener against Ipswich Town.
That welcome-back moment begins a highlights clip that reached roughly 580,000 views in seven hours, far beyond the usual opening pace for City's short uploads. The comments are already several times busier than a typical full first day, with viewers picking apart Erling Haaland's movement and mentioning that they watched the match before coming back for the highlights.
There is plenty packed into the brief replay. Daizen Maeda gets past Marc Guéhi to equalize, before Mateo Kovačić lifts a pass into the penalty area for Haaland to head City back in front. Haaland's second comes from a through ball, a carry into the box and a finish that gives City breathing room.
Ipswich makes the closing stages less comfortable. Guéhi's challenge on Abdul Fatawu Issahaku brings a penalty, and Zian Flemming converts late to leave the final score at 3-2.
The club's longer Matchday Live broadcast is also drawing a much faster start than usual. Cel Spellman hosts with former City players Nicky Weaver and Paul Dickov, discussing a seventh straight league win that, according to the club's match description, leaves City six points clear at the top.

What viewers say
Haaland’s movement leading up to his first goal should be studied by every young striker in the game today. Perfect positioning, freeing up space, generating momentum, reading the defence, just absolutely immaculate. No wonder he’s world class!

Haaland is a player who would perform in any league in the world. His positioning, timing, and strength make him a force to be reckoned with in any league. I’m not surprised he’s dominating the most difficult league in the world, season after season, with the number of goals he scores. 2 goals today, what a player!
