"Dude, this is not necessary," the driver says, as his passenger finds yet another thing to adjust before getting out.

Lucid Car Photography's Corvette sketch turns a simple goodbye into a deliberately irritating tour of the interior. The glove box opens, the rearview mirror moves, and the passenger fiddles with the center screen. Even the steering wheel and center armrest get attention. This is a staged comedy bit, introduced on screen as "New Ragebait Method," rather than an unexplained encounter between strangers.

Posted in mid-October, the Short has added about 1.3 million views in a day, nearly seven times its usual daily pace. Its joke needs no knowledge of the modified Corvette's engine: someone has offered you a ride, and you repay them by rearranging their car.

The comments get considerably more technical. One viewer studies the gearshift movement and wonders whether the driver kept the clutch depressed throughout. Others focus on turning the steering wheel while stationary, or debate which overlooked adjustment would make the routine more aggravating. Amid all that scrutiny, one comment singles out the passenger's smooth, calculated movements: an awful lot of coordination devoted to being inconvenient.

  • Do anything you want but dry steering is what really grinds my gears 😂

  • The one thing that bugs me about this whole thing is in the very end, he was able to put the shifter into a gear. That means bro was holding the clutch open THE WHOLE TIME!!!
