Petronas Towers, Sepang and a Grand Prix that came back: Live The Dash in Malaysia
Five uploads came out of one trip to Kuala Lumpur, from a paddock ticket upgrade to the story of who built the world's tallest twin towers.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
World’s tallest twin towers were built by…
A usual day on Live The Dash brings in a little over half a million views, and this week held close to that line. What changed was the scenery. The whole week came out of Malaysia, where Formula 1 returned to Sepang for the first time since 2017 to host the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix.
The trip produced five uploads. The race-weekend videos covered the obvious ground: why F1 left Sepang in the first place, whether the one-off return worked, and what an upgraded ticket buys you. That one comes with a Four Seasons stay in Kuala Lumpur and a paddock pass, and the description adds a wet, chaotic race won by Max Verstappen ahead of Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton. But the video that took off was a side trip. "World's tallest twin towers were built by…" tells the story of the Petronas Towers. Malaysia split the contract in two and set a Japanese firm and a South Korean one against each other, one per tower. It passed 700,000 views in five days.
The title leaves its answer hanging, and the comments fill it in. The most liked one names Samsung C&T, others carefully point out that it is not the electronics company, and a long thread of Malaysian viewers simply say hello. One remembers watching the towers rise from across the street at the age of four.
An older video is still working too: "Unhinged Road Trip Tips…", eleven days old and closing in on 760,000 views. Subscribers grew by about 4,000 over the week. Among the motorsport and off-road channels near its size, none added more views than Live The Dash. DirtFish came closest, and most of the group, from Danny MacAskill to Edwin Olding, ran below their usual pace.
