How did Taylor Swift meet Travis Kelce? That is the question behind the newest lesson on Learn English With TV Series. In it, the singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end tell the story of how they met and what caught their attention. The channel turns the conversation into a study of everyday expressions and natural American pronunciation. Fourteen hours after it went up, it was the busiest thing the channel had posted all week.

It had company. A day earlier came a shorter Swift clip in which she remembers being the official entertainment at the Nashville Rubber Duck Race when she was fourteen. The lesson uses that memory to teach "a big deal," and how to say something isn't one.

The rest of the week's eight uploads went back to the screen, where the channel usually lives. Wednesday Addams challenges Bianca to a fencing match, and the lesson works through "clean strike" and "drop dead." That one is close to 100,000 views. A short on Christopher Nolan's IMAX close-ups teaches "to go to great lengths." Po from Kung Fu Panda turns up twice: in a short about dumplings and chopsticks, and in last week's longer lesson on Kung Fu Panda 3, where he meets his panda dad. That lesson has passed 148,000 views and is still drawing a steady crowd. It also supplied "a whole bunch," which got its own idiom-of-the-day short.

Among explainer and education channels, Tom Scott and CrashCourse are running well above their usual daily views. Learn English With TV Series sits third by subscribers in its group of similar channels, with about 12 million.
