Blue Angels over the Bay brighten a heavy news week for KTVU FOX 2
Between an arrest in the Warfield Theatre killing and a Monterey County child case, the station streamed the Navy jets live over San Francisco Bay.

Most of KTVU FOX 2's week was hard news, and its most watched upload was among the hardest. San Francisco police arrested a woman in the weekend shooting of a security guard at the Warfield Theatre, the historic Market Street music hall. Within a day, the report had drawn more than 20,000 views, and its comment section kept returning to the man who was killed and to how a gun got inside the venue.
A second report moved even faster once it went up. The Monterey County District Attorney charged a mother with child endangerment and other crimes in a case that began with a newborn found dead and ended with a teenage girl and her father located in Mexico. In under half a day it was gathering views at the quickest pace on the channel. Further down the shelf were an arrest in a Bayview District sexual assault, a heated closing exchange in a congressional debate between Aisha Wahab and Melissa Hernandez, and President Trump repeating his remark about a missile hitting Los Angeles or San Diego.
Amid all that came a lighter hour: "LIVE: Blue Angels over San Francisco Bay." The Navy's flight demonstration team over the water is a fixture of San Francisco's October Fleet Week, and the stream picked up speed within hours of going live.
Overall, the channel ran well below its usual pace. Fifteen uploads went out, and about a thousand new subscribers arrived. Among the local stations closest to its size, NBCLA had by far the biggest week, with WSB-TV in Atlanta also running above its usual pace. CBS Philadelphia and CP24 had quieter weeks, closer to KTVU's.
