Sardine linguine in twelve minutes: Jamie Oliver's Tuesday 20 begins

Underrated Hijabi took the first challenge in his new creator cooking series, cutting his 20-minute pasta down to a twelve-minute clock.

Jamie Oliver launched a new series built around creators who, in the channel's own words, cannot cook. It is called The Tuesday 20, and the format is simple: he sends a recipe from his 20 Minute Meals book, sets a clock, and watches from a distance.

The first guest was Underrated Hijabi, and her clock was even shorter than the title promises. She got twelve minutes for his sardine linguine, a tin of sardines tossed with fennel, capers, chilli, lemon and pine nuts. The chapters list hob drama and onion tears before the final verdict, and the video drew around 26,000 views in its first day.

The launch came with two trailers. One, a short asking why you should cook with him every Tuesday, is drawing views faster than anything else on the channel right now. The episode itself comes next, ahead of a prawn curry posted three days earlier. That curry, with a crispy-bottomed rice cake and a mango chutney sauce, is the most watched of seven new uploads at close to 90,000 views.

The rest of the week drew on the archive. There was a turkey guide aimed squarely at Thanksgiving and Christmas, a roast dinner compilation that runs from beer butt chicken to Yorkshire puddings, and a two-hour run of fifteen-plus ideas that ends, a little out of season, with homemade Easter eggs.

Among cooking channels of a similar size, BeardMeatsFood is the one running well above its usual pace, roughly double it. Chef Tyler and Nick's Kitchen are also busier than normal.
