Tomatoes instead of candy at a trick-or-treat doorstep
House of Highlights' reposted vegetable surprise passes a million views in ten hours, far beyond its usual Shorts start.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 1,876,482 views a day, 34 times a normal first day on this channel (54,614).
Lil bro started crying😅💔
The buckets are ready, but the bowl at the door contains tomatoes, peppers and an onion. For these trick-or-treaters, the promised treat has turned into a small grocery run.
House of Highlights reposted the clip with credit to @_marrriii33 on TikTok. An older child walks away from the offering, while a younger child in a vampire costume approaches, touches a tomato and begins to cry. The surprise is simply that there is no candy in the bowl.
The Short has passed a million views in ten hours, already well beyond what a typical House of Highlights Short draws across its entire first day. That is a notable departure from the basketball plays filling much of the clips channel's feed.
Costumes have found their way into the sports uploads, too. Another unusually fast-starting Short features Victor Wembanyama dressed as The Witcher for his Halloween-night game, followed by basketball highlights. Here, though, the channel's attention-grabbing moment needs neither a dunk nor a blocked shot, just someone answering the door with fresh produce.
