The nearly empty jar had been doing its job for a month. A husband says he kept leaving his wife's Nutella alone because there was so little left, until he started wondering how she had gone so long without finishing it.

His pantry investigation, shared by clips channel Hopeless Core and credited to Instagram's @judmuffin17, reached roughly thirty times the channel's usual first-day views for a Short. Hopeless Core edits other creators' clips rather than making the original videos.

The husband films his search behind bags of flour and marshmallows. There sits another jar, still half full. The almost-empty one at the front, he realizes, was a decoy: enough to suggest there was nothing worth taking, while the actual supply stayed out of sight.

"And this woman set out a decoy bottle of Nutella," he says.

Then he announces that he intends to eat the newly discovered stash. That response supplies the comment section's favorite observation: his immediate plan rather neatly explains why she might have hidden it. Other viewers question how often someone who supposedly leaves the Nutella alone has been checking on its contents.
