Two came from Route 66, one looked at a French toast with a molten yolk, and one was a pancake made with blood, posted under a National Pancake Day hashtag. The fifth left the kitchen entirely: "Inside Japan's Rabbit Island #worldtourismday" went up on Sunday and is already drawing views faster than anything else on the channel.

The road trip is holding up well. "The Real Story of Route 66's First Corn Dog" has the largest total of the week and is still moving briskly at three days old. The blood pancake has kept a steady pace behind it, while the French toast, the oldest of the batch, has slowed almost to a stop.

Overall, the channel is running at exactly its usual daily pace. Among the cooking and food channels around it, Great Big Story ranks fourth by subscribers but has the calmest daily views in the group. Chef Tyler is far ahead of everyone, with close to twenty million views a day. Great Big Story's own week was about something slower: a corn dog's origin story, with the rabbits a little ahead of it.
