Harry Kane and Michael Olise take up GothamChess's chess invitation

The football guests join a twelve-upload week that also finds Levy Rozman inspecting some decidedly impractical chess tables.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Harry Kane and Michael Olise have a different kind of positioning problem in GothamChess's latest collaboration. In "I MET HARRY KANE (Chess 1 v 1)," Levy Rozman meets the footballers and plays chess with them, adding a sporting crossover to a busy run of uploads.

The new encounter is already among the channel's fastest-moving videos, alongside "How to Play Chess," which currently draws the most daily views. "Huge Problem" rounds out that busy trio. The titles range from straightforward instruction to ominous understatement, very much within Rozman's usual register.

But the week's most watched upload is "WHY," with roughly 1.6 million views, and its problem isn't a difficult opponent. It's furniture. Rozman reacts to an Instagram slideshow called "THE ART OF A CHESS TABLE," where attractive presentation keeps colliding with the requirements of actually playing chess. Kings and queens occupy the wrong starting squares, one set has pieces all in a single color, and an extremely elongated table leaves him bewildered.

Viewers continue the inspection in the comments, discussing board orientation, the placement of the royal pieces and a board they count as six squares across. Others focus on the countdown before Rozman's close-up entrance.

GothamChess added roughly 70,000 subscribers over seven days, although channel-wide daily views are currently well below their usual pace. For a channel calling itself "The Internet's Chess Teacher," this week's teaching assignment includes a useful preliminary: make sure the designer has supplied a playable board.
