Between recaps of USA against Uzbekistan and a look at Gukesh's games, the slow-talking speedrun episode passed 220,000 views in two days.

SLOWKARU SCARES 2250s RIGHT OFF THE BOARD!!

Hikaru Nakamura spent much of the week with the 2026 Chess Olympiad. He posted fifteen videos, and the biggest Olympiad pieces followed the event round by round: "THE CHESS SPOKE LOUDLY TODAY" covered the USA against Uzbekistan and a Gukesh game, and "Kid Fight: Olympiad Era" recapped round 10 with Sindarov and Gukesh. Then came "UZ UZ DOMINATION UZ UZ NATION UZ UZ," on the final round, billed as the US trying to stop "the dominant Uzbeks." The chant-like title makes sense for a country whose team won the open section in 2022, with Javokhir Sindarov among its young stars. Gukesh, for his part, has carried the world champion's title since 2024.

The tournament videos opened strongly and then settled, as event recaps do. The one still running hard is from his own series. "SLOWKARU SCARES 2250s RIGHT OFF THE BOARD!!" is the 58th Slowkaru, the educational speedrun where he plays rapid games against climbing opposition. At two days old, it is drawing about a sixth of what the whole channel usually gets in a day. Two day-old clips are close behind it: part two of an August Bullet Brawl, where he wishes he had won more, and a game he simply premoves.

Among streaming channels of a similar size, Duke Dennis is running a little above his usual pace, while Dantes stays right on his very large one. Hikaru sits sixth of nine by subscribers.
