The performance of a lifetime 🎭🎤🤣 | Gianmarco Soresi | Stand Up Comedy Crowd Work
Gianmarco Soresi asks whether there are any theater kids in the crowd. He gets an actor who has rearranged her theater schedule to see him, knows her monologue and is perfectly willing to give him direction.
She plays the soccer mom in The Wolves, a play about a girls' youth soccer team. Her character arrives near the end with a dramatic speech about losing her daughter. Soresi makes an offer: "For $50, would you do the monologue for us?"
But inviting her onstage doesn't mean he gets to stand back and watch. She needs a cue, which means casting him as a teenage player with eyeliner and a broken leg. The comedian becomes the supporting actor at his own show, receiving instructions before the scene can begin.
The Short has drawn more than half a million views in nineteen hours, far beyond his usual first-day audience. In the comments, viewers keep returning to her directorial interruptions and the amount of scene-setting required before her character even appears. Others suggest she try stand-up herself.
Theater has been running through Soresi's uploads, including a Downside episode with Camden Garcia about musical theater and acting training. Here, it becomes an unexpected collaboration rather than a conversation topic. After the applause, Soresi thanks his guest and offers a career suggestion: "I hope I helped you realize sooner than I did to get into standup comedy over musical theater."

@FaceripSee it on YouTubeGianmarco called it. She should try stand-up if she's not already doing it. Not only does she have the charisma and stage presence, she has natural comedy instincts and timing.
