A side eye at 16:52: DrDonut Clips' clone mystery goes full length
The longer cut gathered nearly half a million views in fifteen hours, while viewers combed it for clues such as a house move, a missing obsidian box and an 'oh my god' where 'oh my gosh' used to be.
DrDonut ClipsStory of Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 557,171 views a day, 13 times a normal first day on this channel (42,936).
HAVE I BEEN CLONED???
The clone saga got longer. A day after DrDonut Clips answered the question in Morse code, as we reported here, the channel has posted the full-length version: "HAVE I BEEN CLONED???", in capitals, with three question marks.
In fifteen hours it drew close to half a million views, about thirteen times what a new upload here usually gathers in its first day. It is not the busiest clone video of September 30. A short titled "drdonut is cloned" has passed a million and a half. But the long cut is the one where viewers have room to look for clues, and they are using it.
The channel belongs to DrDonut, the Minecraft streamer, but its description says the clips are cut and posted by other people. The tags place this one on DonutSMP, the server that shares his name.
The comments read like an investigation. The most talked-about moment is a side eye near the very end, at 16:52, which many call the scariest part. Others build a case from smaller things. He suddenly moves houses. He says "oh my god" where, one viewer insists, he always used to say "oh my gosh." He no longer builds an obsidian box around himself when he teleports to other players. And some want "the blue light" back.
Not everyone is convinced. A good share of the thread calls it a troll or rage bait. One popular reply jokes that the next upload will explain how he fooled the whole internet.
Across the channel as a whole, the day ran a little below its usual pace. The clone question, in one form or another, is carrying most of it.
