A six-fingered knight and RuneScape's AI slop week, through Dolan Darkest's eyes

Seven uploads, nearly all about AI gone wrong, from a 100 Thieves collab to Kiwibank's sheep mascot, and a day-old Discord leak video already moving fastest.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

How Did They Mess Up This Badly

"Huge Discord Leak" is barely a day old and already the busiest thing on Dolan Darkest. It covers a security attack on Double Counter, the Discord bot, and the description signs off with a demand that Wumpus, Discord's mascot, must pay.

The week before it ran on a single theme: artificial intelligence turning up where people did not want it. The most watched upload, "How Did They Mess Up This Badly," passed 900,000 views. It goes after RuneScape, which ran into two AI controversies in the same week: a collaboration with 100 Thieves and one of its announcement trailers. The comments read like a roast circle. One knight's extra finger gets its share of Princess Bride jokes, and many viewers point out that this game's community notices every pixel. One commenter says they are an artist who appears in the video, and they defend Jagex's usual record with community artists.

Around it came Trump declaring himself "grokpilled" in "I Wish This Was Fake," a Kiwibank sheep mascot that drew DMCA notices in "What Was This Company Thinking," and a wrap-up of the Mighty Mike saga, in which his father answered in a 70-minute video that denied almost every claim.

The channel as a whole ran well below its usual pace, though it still added around 5 million views and a few thousand subscribers. Among the reaction and commentary channels nearest its size, Austin Sweatt and Rachel Louise had the bigger weeks. Dolan Darkest came next, ahead of quieter names like Sarah Z and Pinely.

Man it's so crazy it's always One Person On The Team that keeps doing this stuff. They should finally catch that guy.

"no, we swear we worked with multiple graphic designers and did lots of hard work..... unfortunately at the very last step of production we ran it through an AI that changed the whole design. and then we sent it straight off to the printers without anyone checking it at all"
a very bad lie, and doesn't make them look good even if we did believe them

Why is every company posting AI slop on twitter in the last month. It was brainPOP and now RuneScape of all things 😭
