Billions in cryptocurrency are missing, and Dolan Darkest is still trying to win at Fall Guys. His new SlopLIVE instalment, "That Can't Be Good", runs a brief account of the reported Binance breach alongside an altogether lower-stakes obstacle course.
The narrator reports that $6.3 billion was stolen from the exchange's hot wallet. He cites Binance's statement that company reserves would cover the loss, and says exchanges and crypto firms have frozen approximately half the stolen funds.
But the detail he turns into a pointed joke is the reported compromise of a DevOps engineer's laptop. "Nothing says decentralized currency like having a singular point of failure..." he remarks. It's the gap between crypto's decentralised promise and the vulnerability of the infrastructure people use to hold it that gives this short commentary its angle.
The gameplay carries on beneath the reporting. By the closing moments, Dolan has a Fall Guys victory, even if the financial story is rather less cheerful.
