The receipt isn't the problem. Ali G arrives at SoleStage with counterfeit Jordans and wants Joe La Puma to help secure a refund for his friend Dangerous Dave. The modified Jumpman logo is a fairly substantial obstacle.

"Ali G Goes Sneaker Shopping With Complex" is a comedy performance by Sacha Baron Cohen, not an ordinary celebrity shopping trip. His character questions the merchandise, rejects the word "sneakers" in favor of "trainers," and makes the checkout considerably more complicated than it needs to be. The episode has drawn roughly 216,000 views, making it the most watched of Complex's eleven new uploads this week and its busiest video right now.

The comments have a distinctly reunion-like thread: viewers remember Ali G from years ago, while others focus on the counterfeit shoes and their altered logo. It's a different kind of guest appearance for a series whose archive includes shopping trips with Cristiano Ronaldo, Billie Eilish and Eminem.
