Fiverr animators make a whole movie for Cold Ones
Twelve days after it went up, the hired-animation experiment has passed 1.8 million views while the channel takes a week off.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
We Made an Entire Movie with Fiverr Animators
Cold Ones crossed 660 million lifetime views without posting anything new, which says something about how long the show's videos keep finding people. Anything4views and Maxmoefoe, the two Australians behind the channel, took the week off, and their recent work kept going without them.
The busiest of it is "We Made an Entire Movie with Fiverr Animators," in which the pair hand a film to freelancers on the gig marketplace and see what comes back. The full animation gets its own link in the description, so the video seems to be partly the making-of and partly the reveal. It is the freshest upload on the channel, and it is drawing views faster than anything else there.
Right behind it is a sibling idea, "We Tested the LIMITS of Etsy," a month old and already past three million. Shopping-platform stunts look like a running thread for the boys this season.
Then there is the outlier. "Drinking the WORST Alcohol in Existence" is more than five months old, and it still pulls a steady crowd every day. Its description credits Strauss's Also Sprach Zarathustra as the soundtrack, which is a fitting score for a bad drink treated like a grand event.
Among the challenge and stunt channels near Cold Ones in size, EmSwizzle and NDL are the ones running well above their usual pace. Mike Boyd, who is closest to Cold Ones in subscribers, is ticking along a little above his normal rate.

The 'WORST Alcohol' video uses Also Sprach Zarathustra, which became famous through which Stanley Kubrick film?
Kubrick used the opening fanfare of Richard Strauss's Also Sprach Zarathustra in 2001: A Space Odyssey in 1968, and the piece has been tied to that film ever since.
