A paw-print family portrait from Cactus, Cowboy and their dog dad

The arts and crafts video ends in a framed picture of the three of them, and an eight-day-old escape clip has passed seven million views.

My dog and puppy react to crazy arts and craft experiment

"My dog and puppy react to crazy arts and craft experiment" is the newest big one on Cactus, the channel of a rescue dog, his owner and, these days, a very busy puppy named Cowboy. The project turns into a keepsake: viewers keep mentioning the framed picture of the three of them, and one points out that Cowboy came away from it with a bald spot. It passed half a million views on its first day.

Seven uploads went up in seven days, and nearly all of them circle the newcomer. Cowboy goes to his first vet appointment, fights bedtime, tests the patience of an older brother who did not want a snuggle, and gets filed under "Proof the second puppy is always the craziest." Cactus, meanwhile, tried out a dog bed billed as the world's biggest.

The video doing the most work, though, is a week older: "Caught my puppy escaping from his pen in 4k" has gone past seven million views and is still moving faster than anything else on the shelf. A movie night for the two dogs, posted a day ago, is off to a quick start too.

The channel ran below its usual daily pace, yet it still gathered more views over the seven days than any of the pet channels nearest its size, ahead of busy weeks for Tail Talks and Catzooka. About 9,000 new subscribers came along.

A few longtime viewers noticed something else in the craft video: the family looks smaller than it once did. The comments mostly wish the household well, and go back to Cowboy.
