A pup at home, Prime Big Deal Days and the What Do You Meme makers
Relatable, the New York company behind the party game What Do You Meme, posted eight Shorts, two of them pointing to Amazon's October sale.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
There’s still a chance to be a winner
Relatable is a toy and game company first, and its channel shows it. The New York outfit started out as What Do You Meme?, named after the meme-captioning party game that became its breakout hit, and it later rebranded to cover a catalog it says now runs past 150 products, from adult party games to plush and pet goods.
Its week was eight short clips, most of them captioned the way a friend would text you: "no because I wouldn't be showing up to school OR work if this was me," or a crystal-ball confession that something is "a 'passion', not an obsession." Two were tied to Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days. One nudged viewers toward a game hashtagged Colorstack, and a last-day reminder pointed to another called Kollide. That reminder, "There's still a chance to be a winner," ended up the most watched upload of the week, though only just, at a couple of thousand views.
The newest clip is the one moving fastest. "there's no place like home with the pup" went up on Thursday and, half a day in, was gathering views quicker than anything else on the shelf.
Overall the channel ran a touch below its usual pace, and the subscriber count did not move. Among the comedy and sketch channels nearest its size, Nariman is having the big week, while Relatable sits near the quiet end of the group, much as a brand channel between product drops tends to.
