Tibi signals support for Eisenkot, whose conditions narrow the options

Bloomberg News's election Short highlights Arab parties' potential role in forming a government, but willingness to help is not yet an agreement.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 138,007 views a day, 25 times a normal first day on this channel (5,610).

Ahmed Tibi says Israeli Arab parties are prepared to help Gadi Eisenkot form a minority government, but not Benjamin Netanyahu. The obstacle is whether Eisenkot would accept their support on terms both sides can agree to.

Bloomberg News sets out that possibility in "Arab Parties May Shift Israel's Election Deadlock," which drew about 95,000 views in its first 12 hours, far beyond the channel's usual start for a Short.

The report opens with Netanyahu being congratulated at a podium, then cuts to Eisenkot with supporters. Its central point cuts through those campaign-stage images: neither bloc has a clear path to government, and Arab parties could hold the balance.

In the accompanying description, Bloomberg reports Tibi's willingness to support an Eisenkot minority government. It also sets out Eisenkot's conditions: he will not accept a party that fails to acknowledge Israel as a Jewish state or recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization. Bloomberg says those requirements could exclude the Joint List and make an agreement with Ra'am more likely.

Another Bloomberg Short, covering Trump's defense of Vivek Ramaswamy over a campaign ad, also drew an unusually fast start. The Israel report's substantive development is more specific: a potential offer of parliamentary support, with the terms still unresolved.
