Kimberly Guilfoyle out as US ambassador to Greece amid conduct probe

Guilfoyle Out as US Ambassador to Greece Amid Conduct Probe
President Donald Trump has removed Kimberly Guilfoyle as US ambassador to Greece, and Bloomberg News needs only a few seconds of narration to explain why. "Former US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle ousted following allegations of unethical conduct," the narrator says as the Short opens.
The allegations come from a series of Wall Street Journal reports. As the video and its caption describe them, the reports say she solicited or accepted money, travel and other benefits from private individuals while using her access to US officials and her diplomatic position. The video does not report a response from Guilfoyle.
The pictures carry part of the story. Greek newspaper front pages with her photograph appear on screen, a sign that the controversy was already news in the country where she served. The Short ends on archival footage of Guilfoyle waving in a white suit.
The description adds two developments. Congressional Democrats have called for ethics and public corruption investigations, and Jeanine Pirro, the US attorney for the District of Columbia, said she would not rule out an investigation. Before her diplomatic posting, Guilfoyle was best known to many Americans as a Fox News host.
Bloomberg News posted several Shorts on the same day, including reports on Houthi strikes on Saudi Aramco's headquarters and a judge's ruling on White House press access. None came close to the Guilfoyle report, which passed 83,000 views in its first 12 hours. A Short on this channel usually gathers fewer than 5,000 views across its whole first day.
The comment section moved even faster. In those first hours it drew dozens of comments, compared with the handful a Short here usually receives in a full day.

The numbers
The Guilfoyle report started far faster than a usual Bloomberg News Short, even as the channel's overall daily viewing stayed close to normal.
