Ten hours of focus, sold as boring, carries Better Ideas

Joey Schweitzer's only upload of the week walks through if-then plans and the four things that break a flow state.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

It's boring, but this is how you focus on anything for 10+ hoursIt's boring, but this is how you focus on anything for 10+ hours

One video, doing the work. Joey Schweitzer posted a single upload this week, "It's boring, but this is how you focus on anything for 10+ hours," and it has passed a quarter of a million views in seven days. The title's honesty is the pitch: no hack, just structure. The chapters move from incentive structures to what the description calls the illusion of absolute value, then to implementation intentions, the psychology term for if-then plans, before closing on the four killers of flow.

It is also the channel's busiest video right now, by a wide margin. Behind it, "The fastest way to destroy your mind," an 82-day-old tongue-in-cheek tutorial on mental overload, has crossed half a million views and still draws a steady stream. "How to fix your f***ed brain" trails further back.

Among self-improvement channels, Better Ideas sits fifth of nine by subscribers, just above Tony Robbins. Pierre Dalati and Robert Greene are both running well above their usual pace this week, while Tony Robbins is close to his normal rhythm. For a channel built on the motto "Inaction is a Slow Death," one carefully argued video about sitting still and working was enough.
