Andy Cooks gives scrambled eggs four ways to shine

A double boiler handles the crowd, a tornado shows off the pan skills, and Chris Young joins a separate steak investigation.

Andy has a favorite, but he makes breakfast a matter of preference rather than a single correct answer. His scrambled-egg tutorial runs from hot-and-fast cooking for firmer eggs to a gently folded, custardy version finished with butter off the heat. That second approach gets his vote.

The week's most-watched new upload reached about 1.4 million views. It also makes room for a double boiler, which Andy recommends when cooking eggs for a crowd, and a spiral-shaped tornado egg for anyone inclined to show off their stainless-steel pan technique. The comments become a breakfast conversation: sourdough and black pepper, how loose the curds should be, and whether chopsticks make the tornado easier. One viewer connects their own high-heat method to memories of a grandmother whose cooking helped inspire a restaurant career.

Breakfast wasn't the whole menu. Across six uploads, Andy also tackled a Fallow-inspired pig-head dish, quick weeknight dinners and "We Tested Every Steak Myth" with Chris Young. The steak discussion works through temperature, flipping, tempering and resting before each chef prepares his preferred steak. A separate Red Rock Deli upload is a branded Nashville hot chicken chip collaboration.

The freshest momentum belongs to the bitterballen recipe: beef chuck braised with aromatics, shredded into a thick roux-based filling, chilled, rolled and crumbed before frying. It is drawing the most daily views of Andy's uploads right now. His earlier fried-egg tutorial remains busy too, keeping both sides of the breakfast argument in circulation.

The channel added 10,000 subscribers over the week, while daily viewing is running comfortably above its usual level. Nearby in the food world, Nick's Kitchen had a particularly strong subscriber week; Epicurious and Jamie Oliver showed no subscriber change. Andy's own busy stretch has a distinctly practical center: how to get the eggs you actually want, rather than somebody else's perfect breakfast.

  • Slow and steady on some sourdough and lots of black pepper. My favourite breakfast
  • The final boss of scrambled eggs is where you try to fry a sunny side egg and ended up making scrambled one...
  • I go high heat... eggs in (whole, not beaten) stir twice heat off keep it moving , finish herbs s&p butter... Whole egg to me taste the best.. I have a childhood memory of my grandma and her scrambled eggs . A few food memories with her are what led to a 20+ year career cooking

  • Never tried the double boiler method. Might have to give that a go one day.
  • Slow and steady for sure, but I tend to prefer them slightly overdone when cooked that way, so it’s still runny/custardy but not quite as loose. That over toast is great
  • For the tornado eggs, doing it using chopsticks seems easier to me than spatula

  • Love love love the way Andy covers the practical side of cooking and not just the fanciest ways
  • Awesome tips as trying to not over cook with 10+ eggs has always been a challenge.
