'Dads Being Dumb' hands AFV Shorts an elevenfold first day
A day-old fail compilation built around fathers is moving at more than half the pace of the whole channel, which already runs on hundreds of thousands of daily views.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 378,386 views a day, 12 times a normal first day on this channel (32,658).
Dads Being Dumb 🤣 #afv #fail #dads
"Dads Being Dumb 🤣 #afv #fail #dads" is a short compilation on AFV Shorts, the official shorts channel of America's Funniest Home Videos. On its first day it drew views at a pace of close to 400,000.
That is about eleven times what a new upload here usually manages at the start. AFV Shorts is not a sleepy channel, either. Its back catalog already brings in hundreds of thousands of views every day, and this one short, on its own, is running at more than half of that everyday pace.
The description keeps the pitch simple. It asks "Which dad are you?" and presents the clips as a few of the show's favorites. That is the formula AFV has used since it began on ABC in 1989, with Bob Saget as its first host: ordinary family mishaps, caught on tape and later on phones, turned into television.
The response so far has come mostly as likes, thousands of them, with only a small pile of comments.
