Two fans or three? ZTT Extras gets builders talking

Zach's seven-upload week also covers first-build shopping, gaming as a dad and a favorite DIY modification.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

A smaller graphics card can mean more choice elsewhere in a PC build. That is the practical point viewers keep returning to beneath ZTT Extras' most watched new upload, "Is There a Big Difference Between 2 and 3 Fan GPUs?", which has drawn about 137,000 views.

The discussion goes beyond counting fans. Some viewers favor compact cards because they open up more case options; others explain that they chose larger coolers with noise in mind. Questions about temperature and long-term durability crop up too. It is a familiar builder's puzzle: the part has to suit the machine you actually want to live with, not just look impressive on a specification sheet.

Zach's Tech Turf's secondary channel posted seven videos, mixing hardware questions with the person behind the builds. "When Will I Collab with Meta PCs Again?" attracted almost as large an audience as the GPU upload, while "Do You Have Time to Game as a Dad and Business Owner?" put the demands on Zach's time into the title. First-time shoppers got "Tips for Going to Micro Center for Your First PC Build".

Across the library, ZTT Extras added roughly 2.6 million views and gained subscribers. That was a substantial viewing week among nearby technology channels, with cmcteq and SuperSaf Shorts also drawing large weekly audiences, while DMS had a quieter showing.

The freshest momentum belongs to "The Cutest RAM Installation Ever...", currently drawing the most daily views of the featured videos. The GPU discussion remains active, and "My Favorite DIY Mod in All of PC Building" adds another hands-on topic to the catch-up shelf.

  • Zach, can you convince Nvidia to make a single fan 5090

  • less heat = less strain on gpu = greater longevity to some extent right? i bought a 3 fan 9060 xt for this reason, i dont plan on buying a new pc for years

edit: another thought, the fans dont have to run as hard so perhaps the motors in them will last longer as well? not that thats a big problem or anything

  • I love the 2 fan basic gpus with no backplate. 4 screws and you can pull the heatsink off... It's perfect yo
  • I didn't go for a 3 fan GPU because I thought a 2 fan would be running too hot. I went for it because a 3 fans will have to be spinning much slower, therefore having much lesser noise output. Or considerably lower temps (therefore better GPU longetivity) with the same noise.
  • The noise levels are also lower on a 3 fan gpu, as the cooling job is more distributed and thus each fan can run at a lower speed.
