Mehdi Hasan questions an intelligence insider on October 7

Avi Melamed's interview anchors Zeteo's fifteen-upload week, alongside a British media panel and live protest coverage.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Avi Melamed's interview has drawn roughly 718,000 views since its Tuesday upload, making it Zeteo's most-watched new release of the week. In "How Did October 7 Happen? Mehdi Asks a Former Israeli Intelligence Official," Hasan questions the former Israeli intelligence and counterterrorism official about preparation, ignored warnings and the response to the attack.

The interview's scope extends beyond those intelligence failures to the hostages, Gaza, international law and Israel's relations with the West. It is a different assignment from the channel's other widely watched Tuesday upload, its commentary on Katie Zacharia's first White House briefing, which finished close behind.

British journalism also received sustained attention. At Zeteo UK's Barbican launch panel, Sangita Myska and Peter Oborne joined Hasan to criticize legacy media's relationship with power and its coverage of Gaza and Reform UK. A separate "Sangita Meets…" interview brought photographer Misan Harriman into that conversation about press coverage.

The freshest momentum, though, belongs to Zeteo's live "No Kings" coverage, followed by Prem's commentary on the attack on journalist Heidi Levine. John Harwood's interview with Democratic pollster Cornell Belcher is also drawing viewers, examining polling reliability and Belcher's expectations for the midterms.

Zeteo added about 10,000 subscribers over seven days, although daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. Nearby political channels have had busier viewing weeks, including Breaking Points and Secular Talk. For Zeteo, the week's most substantial new audience gathered around Hasan's extended questioning of Melamed rather than its live election coverage.
