Ten things to know before a Botswana safari, from Zac and Ine

The couple's guide runs from dry and wet seasons to tipping, and a Rwanda guide with gorillas and Dian Fossey went up a day later.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Among the travel channels nearest its size, World Wild Hearts gathered the third most views over the week, behind Chris Howett and SteveMarsh, who are both having very big ones.

Zac and Ine, the Belgian-Dutch couple who have been traveling together since 2021, spent the week in Africa. Their main new upload, "BOTSWANA SAFARI (2026) | Things To Know Before You Go To Botswana (Travel Tips)", follows an earlier road trip video and gets practical: dry season against wet, the cold nights that surprise visitors, rough roads and patchy signal, whether to drive yourself or join a guided mobile tented camp, flying in to lodges, unfenced wildlife, and finally budget, tipping and payments. The description points to the country's draw plainly: the largest elephant population on earth, roaming open land. One commenter who has made three safari trips there wrote in to agree with much of the advice.

A short route clip went up the day before, and a day after came "RWANDA TRAVEL (2026) | 10 BEST Places & Things To Do In Rwanda (+ Travel Tips)", which moves from the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Nyungwe's canopy walk to golden monkeys, Lake Kivu, Dian Fossey and the mountain gorillas.

The video carrying the most momentum, though, is a long way from the savanna. Their Paris guide, a little over a month old, with Versailles, the catacombs and Canal Saint-Martin, is still drawing the biggest daily crowd, with Madagascar's baobabs and lemurs behind it. Views ran a little under their usual pace, and around a thousand new subscribers arrived.

What viewers say

  • Excellent video. My wife and i have enjoyed three safari holidays in Botswana during the past 4 years and concur with much of what you have said. The first two trips were both Mobile Tented Safaris covering the Chobe, Savuti and Moremi areas and i have made several videos about our experiences - which were all very positive! In your video you point out many of the safari areas of the country but you ignored one of the most delightful areas - The Tuli Wilderness which is in eastern Botswana on the borders with South Africa where the border aligns with the Limpopo River. Just a few weeks ago…
