Introducing Best of Luck with Kyla Scanlon
The ladder has moved. That is Kyla Scanlon's starting point in "Introducing Best of Luck with Kyla Scanlon," the most-watched of Vox's fifteen new uploads this week.
"How do you plan a career when nobody can tell you which jobs will even exist in 5 years?" she asks. The trailer introduces a weekly podcast and video show built around that uncertainty, with AI, education and changing labor markets all in the picture. It has reached roughly 141,000 views.
The preview gives the conversations some texture. Marketplace's Kai Ryssdal acknowledges the anxiety while looking for ways forward. Financial Times journalist John Burn-Murdoch brings a chart about technical and social skills. Good Work's Dan Toomey supplies a comic turn about reading Scanlon's economic newsletters. Episodes begin Tuesday, October 27.
Viewers are talking about the move into longer conversations and recognizing familiar guests, especially Toomey, Ben Cahn and Emil DeRosa. One describes taking economics electives after encountering Scanlon's work, a particularly fitting response to a show about finding your way through work and education.
Elsewhere, Astead Herndon's conversation with Shane Goldmacher about Republican campaign fundraising drew almost as many views as the trailer. Scanlon's announcement currently carries the most daily momentum, followed by Vox's examination of the Elizabeth Holmes documentary.
Vox added about 2.8 million views over the week, while its subscriber count held steady. Daily viewing is now more than twice its usual pace, with a new career-focused series joining the channel's explainers.

Kyla, you got me into economics! My bachelor's was in urban planning but my last few electives I took econ classes. So, it's your fault I took game theory 😅

What a lovely surprise! I've been watching Kyla's shorts for a while and believe them to be some of the most easily understood thoughts and ideas on today's economy...while also being done with a creative flair that is unmatched. Wishing her more success!
